Belek Golf – Introducing The Best Alternative Golfing Destination in Europe

Belek has quickly become one of the go-to places in Europe to swing your 7-iron and improve your handicap, as it is home to an array of top-class courses.

With more than 14 courses to choose from, Belek offers a little something special for every golfer. Thanks to the warm all-year-round weather, Belek is continually welcoming golfing enthusiasts.

One of the major pulls is that some gold courses have been designed by famous legendary golfers, for example, Britain’s most successful golfer of all time, Nick Faldo and Scotsman Colin Montgomerie, who has won 31 European Tour championships.

9-Hole Golf in Belek

Playing 9 holes is a great way to introduce your children to the wonderful game, dating back to the 17th century. It is also perfect for when you have limited time to play, for example, at the start of the day before heading to the beach with your family.

To get your family on the green, visit Gloria Verde Golf Course, built around pine trees and has two lakes. This 9-hole course is a par 35. In the summer, they offer free golfing classes, regardless of age and ability. Other lesson packages are also available.

The Titanic Golf Course was the first 27-hole course to open in Belek. It has 3 loops of 9-hole golf, they are River 9, Mediterranean 9 and Forest 9. Each course is a par 36 and offers something unique in its course layout and surroundings.

The 9-hole fee is €70; additional costs include a golf cart. Each golfer needs their own set of clubs and must wear appropriate attire; for example, only soft spikes are allowed.

Favourite Golf Courses in Belek

Lykia Golf Links, par 73, is located just outside the famous Belek golf strip, but it is equally memorable and enjoyable. It is also the only links course in Turkey. One of the reasons it’s a top pick is that from holes 13 to 16, you’ll be playing alongside the Mediterranean Sea.

Experienced golfers will love the course at the National Golf Club, which is viewed to be tricky because of its abundance of umbrella pines and hazards. It provides excellent views of the Taurus Mountains.

Cornelia Golf Club, designed by Sir Nick Faldo, is an absolute must for any golfing fan because it has it all! There is never a dull moment on this course with short holes, challenging holes, tricky manoeuvres and illusions. Memorable holes include 4, 7, 12 and 15. Guest rates depend on when you visit, but you can expect to pay around €100 for the Championship 18 hole, more if you want a golf cart or trolley.

Sueno Pines Golf Club has two 18-hole courses, both are par 72, spread over 400-acres of lakes, pines and sand bunkers. It’s a great course to get back into golf. The first hole is easy, there are a few short courses in the middle, and the final hole is tricky. December is the cheapest time to visit as the green fee is €71.

The Montgomerie Maxx Royal (par 72) welcomes all abilities along its coastal course, covering 260 acres. In 2015, it received great notoriety as it was used to host the Turkish Open as part of the PGA tour. Many golfers love it for its balance of water hazards (8 lakes) and bunkers (7 ha) that keep golfers on their toes and thinking up lots of strategic plays to create excellent ball placement.

Finally, the PGA Sultan Course can simply be described as “mind-blowing”. It regularly appears in Top Golf lists as being a well-designed and entertaining course. Pro tips for each hole are available on their website.

Golfing Tips

Due to its popularity, it is virtually impossible to book a tee time 24 hours or less in advance. Therefore, it is imperative that you book golf ahead of time, think weeks and months as opposed to days.

After your rounds, enjoy a relaxing and reflective drink or snack in the club`s restaurant. They are all equally as impressive as their courses. It is also important to rehydrate.

Check overseeding times on the golf course’s official website, as the course will be closed. Perhaps for a couple of weeks, to allow the grass to seed and grow before being disturbed.

Subscribe to a golfing YouTube channel for free golf instructions and advice about fitness, equipment and more. Me and My Golf is hosted by Andy Proudman and Piers Ward, two PGA professionals. They have over 790,000 subscribers.

Each golf course offers rental clubs and has pro-shops, perfect for buying a souvenir and the latest gadget or stylish t-shirt.
