Trees contribute to their environment in numerous ways. They lower the temperature by converting the liquid water from the soil to water vapour. One large tree can provide oxygen for 4 people for a day. They also preserve soil and protect wildlife.

Therefore, protecting our forests and planting new trees have become a standard duty for humankind.

Meaningful Event: Limak Hotels Tree Planting Day

As Limak Hotels group, we have decided to establish a memorial forest and reforest areas destroyed by the fires. Since then, it has become a tradition to organize Limak Hotels tree planting day each year. We have been planting the trees with our lovely guests since 2011 at 100 acres of land in the Serik district of Antalya.

This year’s event took place on the 24th of April with our guests from Limak Arcadia, Limak Limra, Limak Atlantis and Limak Lara Hotels. Our planting team gathered in the land at around 10:00. More than 100 people attended the planting, and we planted close to a thousand trees. Also, some locals joined and helped us to plant our trees. This year we prioritized olives and pine trees, and we finished our job at around 12:30.

After the event, we take our guests to a different hotel than their own for lunch. After lunch, guests were back to their hotels, where they received their tree ownership certificates. By the end of 2021, we aim to have 100 thousand trees planted in our memorial forest.

Another Tradition: Plant Seed Gifts

We have another tradition at Limak Hotels, to present plant seeds to our guests when they return home. Our seed package includes sunflower, fennel, hibiscus, cosmos, redbud, echinacea, coriander, sage, anise, thyme, melissa, eucalyptus, basil and black pine. Altogether, 14 seeds that anyone can grow in their gardens or balconies back home.
